Terms of Use
1. Scope
These terms of use apply to all services provided by vatger, including in particular, but not exclusively, the forum (board.vatsim-germany.org), document management (dms.vatsim-germany.org) and the TeamSpeak server (ts.vatsim-germany.org).
2. Violations
If you violate these rules, you must expect warnings and/or bans. The bans depend on the severity of the offense and range from a 14-day forum ban to a permanent ban from all vatger services.
3. Requirement to use your real name
The use of the services is only permitted using your real name. This name is automatically generated from the name given to VATSIM when the account is created. A change of name is also only possible at VATSIM itself. Exceptions to this rule are not possible for vatger. Exceptions on the part of VATSIM remain unaffected by this.
4. Intellectual property rights
You agree that by posting content on any service you grant vatger a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable and irrevocable right to use the content created by you, unlimited in time, place and content. You guarantee that there are no third-party rights to the content created by you and that no third-party rights are infringed by the rights of use granted. Content with illegal and youth protection-relevant topics (warez, cracks, copy protection circumvention, copyright infringements, file sharing, sex, flirt, contact and similar sites) or the publication of links to these are generally prohibited. Such content in posts, profiles or signatures will be removed without warning if discovered and may result in the member being immediately blocked from vatger services. Links to YouTube or similar are only permitted if you as the publisher in the vatger services can ensure that the videos shown there are free of third-party rights. 5. No deletion of contributions in the event of account deletion
In the event that you wish to delete your account with us, your posts will not be deleted. Only your user name will be anonymized so that a post is no longer directly linked to your name. The content of your posts or the posts of others will remain unaffected by this.
6. Choice of words
Use a moderate choice of words and a good language style. Foul language or similar as well as provocations of others are not permitted. Insults against other members, third parties, institutions or companies, xenophobia and sexism are strictly prohibited. Discussions about politics, religion and ideologies are not permitted.
7. Advertising
Advertising for political parties, interest groups and campaigns as well as religious communities, sects or ideological movements is not permitted, especially if commercial, political or missionary intentions are being pursued. Any other form of advertising may be prohibited by those responsible for vatger services in individual cases.
8. Commercial Offers
Users may post private offers and requests on vatger platforms, provided that these have a clear connection to flight simulation, aviation, or VATSIM and are not primarily intended to generate profit. Permitted content includes, in particular, private offers in the spirit of "by hobbyists for enthusiasts," such as self-built or modified components, used hardware being sold due to an upgrade, or other related accessories. Items may be offered at cost, for a reasonable contribution towards expenses, or at an appropriate private sale price. For all offers, the requested price must be clearly stated in the post. Vague pricing, requests for offers without indicating a price, or listings using terms such as "price upon request" are not permitted. Where shipping costs apply, they must also be stated transparently or at least be clearly identified as additional charges. Commercial offers, regular trading for profit, advertising, and offers with no apparent connection to flight simulation, aviation, or VATSIM are not permitted. Links to external sales platforms, auction websites, or comparable marketplaces are likewise prohibited. All offers, wanted ads, and sales are conducted exclusively as private transactions between the users involved. vatger is not the provider, seller, buyer, intermediary, or contracting party and assumes no responsibility for the creation, content, execution, payment, shipping, quality, legality, or any other claims arising from individual offers or transactions. Responsibility rests solely with the users involved. vatger reserves the right to remove any posts or content that violate these rules, are unclear or misleading, or otherwise conflict with the purpose and nature of the VATGER platforms.
9. Additional regulations Forum
The provisions in this section apply to the vatger forum (board.vatsim-germany.org).
9.1. Publishing content
Content published in the forum (including screenshots thereof) is not released for publication outside the forum. Feel free to link to posts instead.
9.2. Use of your name in e.g. CPT banners
Your name may be used on advertising banners for e.g. CPTs, which are only published in the area of the forum accessible to registered users. If you do not want this, please discuss this with your event team in advance.
9.3. One thread - one topic, use the search function
If new topics arise in a thread, open a new thread if necessary. Please also use the forum search function to avoid duplicate threads. Posting the same issue in several threads to attract attention is not permitted.
9.4. Signatures and avatars
Signatures: A maximum of one image is permitted in the signature. The image may not be larger than 400x80 pixels (width x height) and the file may not be larger than 50 kByte. Animated images are permitted as long as the file size does not exceed 50 kByte. Images embedded in the post whose content obviously serves the purpose of a signature are treated in the same way as images in the signature. Signature banners issued by VATSIM are excluded from the limitations. vatger provides a version of the VATSIM banner via Rotban that is adapted to the forum system. Its use is recommended, but not mandatory.
9.5 Virtual airlines
Postings in connection with the founding of a VA, advertising a VA or calling for participation in it are only permitted in the area provided for this purpose. In this area, posts are first checked by the staff and are only visible once they have been activated.
9.6. “Events” forum area
New threads in the Events forum area may only be created by members of the vatger event teams including FIRs or the event teams of external VACCs (only under “international events”). Threads started by other participants in this area can be deleted or moved without warning. Exceptions to this can be made with the PR&Events team of vatger.
10. Additional regulations TeamSpeak
The provisions in this section apply to the vatger TeamSpeak server (ts.vatsim-germany.org).
Without exception, it is not permitted to stream conversations from Teamspeak or the application in which the users connected to the server can be seen. Recording conversations in Teamspeak is only permitted with the consent of all those being recorded and using the Teamspeak recording function.
Violations of the above rules will be punished as follows:
First violation
The user will receive a warning and TS access will be blocked for 14 days.
Second violation
The user's access to all vatger services (including the forum) will be blocked for 90 days. Guest pilots may lose their permissions.
Third violation
Permanent blocking of the user from all vatger services. Guest pilots may lose their guest pilot status.
11. Additional regulations Moodle
The provisions in this section apply to the vatger Moodle instance (moodle.vatsim-germany.org).
The materials posted in Moodle generally constitute copyrighted works within the meaning of copyright law. The following applies to the content made available in this course room: Reproduction, distribution, modification or making available to the public on the Internet, in particular in social media channels or on video/streaming platforms (e.g. Twitch, YouTube) constitutes an unlawful infringement of copyright and may result in exclusion from the courses as well as injunctive relief and claims for damages.
